Is there a live (or not live) version of Live With Me anywhere around the internet?

- Asked by Anonymous

There was a live version on “Getting to Know You” which I don’t presently have anywhere on the net. The album version from Charades is here if you wanna hear it. http://mattlatterell.bandcamp.com/album/charades-2010

Pioneer Public Television produced a 30-minute doc about Holly Hansen and her band Zoo Animal, of which I’ve been guitar player since December. Holly also used to play drums with my band, and released LifeOnLand on her label, Suntanman. Really proud to have been a part of this thing.

This was my entry into Low’s “Sweet Touch” song contest. It wasn’t actually a contest and Low didn’t release their song. I did mine while under the influence of a cold and a fever.

Absolutely Cuckoo: Minnesota covers the 69 Love Songs

About one year ago I started asking bands about this lil’ project. Turned out to be a really fun one.

When are you coming out with another CD?

- Asked by Anonymous

Perhaps in the fall. Perhaps in a year. I’m in no particular hurry. I do have many new songs that I am really excited to develop.

The very meaninglessness of life forces man to create his own meaning. Children, of course, begin life with an untarnished sense of wonder, a capacity to experience total joy at something as simple as the greenness of a leaf; but as they grow older, the awareness of death and decay begins to impinge on their consciousness and subtly erode their joie de vivre, their idealism – and their assumption of immortality. As a child matures, he sees death and pain everywhere about him, and begins to lose faith in the ultimate goodness of man. But, if he’s reasonably strong – and lucky – he can emerge from this twilight of the soul into a rebirth of life’s elan. Both because of and in spite of his awareness of the meaninglessness of life, he can forge a fresh sense of purpose and affirmation. He may not recapture the same pure sense of wonder he was born with, but he can shape something far more enduring and sustaining. The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death – however mutable man may be able to make them – our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.

Very excited to be playing guitar in my second gig with Zoo Animal on April 12th. We’ve really tightened things up since the December gig. Come hear what #rawanimal is all about.
